Once recruited by the Rogues, Arcadia is relocated to a small apartment in a different district of Edom.  She's not used to living on her own (since she's been living with her family up until now), so she gets lonely.

Ghost AKA Circuit Dude
Oracle is plugged into the planetwide communication system of Genesis (think the futuristic version of the internet) via the nanites in her body so she can essentially spy on anyone who can’t block her/she can’t access.  The markings on her body are from the nanites (she’s a recovered nano-addict), and glow in waves while she’s accessing the system.

Something symbolic representing Magnus's blindness, and maybe his blind devotion to Unity...





Magnus got into some fights in his early years in the Unity Militia Academy for talking back to cruel training sergeants, which resulted in him getting thrown into an Isolation Room for a few days. Isolation Rooms are stark white and cramped with a constant white, blinding light on the subject to force them to stay awake, and a sound suppressing system that makes it so that the occupants can’t hear their own voices. It’s not advisable to keep cadets in these rooms for long as it has been known to drive them mad. Magnus endured several stays in Iso Rooms which eventually broke him enough for the training sergeants to sculpt him into the perfect puppet soldier.
UM so I feel bad, but I also really like how this turned out...Magnus’s first day as the new General of “The Hellhole of Genesis” AKA Edom’s police force, does not go so well.  The Rogues and Sublevel dwellers in that district be nasty.  The title of General/Commissioner are interchangeable under Genesis’s Unity gov’t ever since Unity swallowed up the law enforcement during the coup, just fyi

Cross Family Jots

I've been working on developing Arcadia's family lately (in hopes that it will help to develop her character, which has proven to be elusive!), so here's some info and pics of her family so far! Idothea • She’s the only biological sibling of Arcadia, and the eldest of the Cross children. • She has a new boyfriend every other week who she meets at the club in the Upperlevels she works at.  Idothea might work at Ajax's club, so she has to dye her hair white or wear a wig to blend in with his waitresses. • She distances herself from her family because she thinks they “taint” her with their Midlevel origins. Mrs. Cross isn’t afraid to smacktalk her daughter for abandoning them, but it is understood by the family that she’s really just sad that Idothea would think of her own family as something undesirable. • Idothea uses her wages to buy expensive clothes and maintain a comfortable lifestyle in an Upperlevel apartment. • Idothea was influenced a lot by the Up

What is Genesis Dissentire?

In a nutshell, Genesis Dissentire is a cyberpunk story about a resistance force trying to take back their planet from a Big Brother-type dictator.  The story has been in development since 2013, usually waiting around on the backburner while my other projects take the spotlight.   The initial concept for Genesis came about in 2008 while I was in junior high and revolved around a wolf-dog named Aura and how she and a wolf named Cozac teamed up to fight these dictator-type wolves that were taking over/regulating the packs in Alaska.  I stopped writing the story halfway as I got distracted by other things, but when I came back to the notebook I had been writing it in six years later, I thought the concept was still good, so I took it and turned the characters into humans and put the story in a sci fi setting.
