Cross Family Jots

I've been working on developing Arcadia's family lately (in hopes that it will help to develop her character, which has proven to be elusive!), so here's some info and pics of her family so far! Idothea • She’s the only biological sibling of Arcadia, and the eldest of the Cross children. • She has a new boyfriend every other week who she meets at the club in the Upperlevels she works at.  Idothea might work at Ajax's club, so she has to dye her hair white or wear a wig to blend in with his waitresses. • She distances herself from her family because she thinks they “taint” her with their Midlevel origins. Mrs. Cross isn’t afraid to smacktalk her daughter for abandoning them, but it is understood by the family that she’s really just sad that Idothea would think of her own family as something undesirable. • Idothea uses her wages to buy expensive clothes and maintain a comfortable lifestyle in an Upperlevel apartment. • Idothea was influenced a lot by the Up

8 Facts About Magnus

I was tagged on dA to post eight facts about Magnus, so I thought it would be fun to post them here too so you can get to know his character a little more!   1) He is a high ranking general in the Unity army.   After his parents were assassinated by 'Terrorist Rogues' and he was blinded during the same event, Magnus was entered into the government orphanage system where he grew up before being invited to join the Unity Militia Academy.  Since Unity took over Genesis in the coup, the police was swallowed up by the military so both are interchangeable.  Magnus was acting as the commissioner (title of "General" on Genesis) in the capital city before being transferred to Edom to help clean up the streets that have been running rampant with Graffiti Rogues that started venturing out from the Sub and Midlevels and out onto the glamorous Upperlevels. 2) Magnus can't see a thing...without his vision implant.   Magnus was blinded on the night his p

What is Genesis Dissentire?

In a nutshell, Genesis Dissentire is a cyberpunk story about a resistance force trying to take back their planet from a Big Brother-type dictator.  The story has been in development since 2013, usually waiting around on the backburner while my other projects take the spotlight.   The initial concept for Genesis came about in 2008 while I was in junior high and revolved around a wolf-dog named Aura and how she and a wolf named Cozac teamed up to fight these dictator-type wolves that were taking over/regulating the packs in Alaska.  I stopped writing the story halfway as I got distracted by other things, but when I came back to the notebook I had been writing it in six years later, I thought the concept was still good, so I took it and turned the characters into humans and put the story in a sci fi setting.
